Fireside, an interactive entertainment app backed by Mark Cuban, has successfully closed its Series A funding round at $25 million, resulting in a post-money valuation of $138 million. The company, known for attracting prominent creators to its streaming platform for live and virtual shows, had previously been rumored to seek a valuation of $125 million. The funding and valuation details were confirmed in Fireside’s recent investor update, which also revealed new strategic investors such as Paris Hilton. Additionally, the update provided a sneak peek at Fireside’s interactive streaming technology for smart TVs, made possible through its acquisition of Stremium, a streaming TV platform. Fireside aims to expand its reach by bringing its interactive technology to platforms like smart TVs, Fire TV, Apple TV, and Roku, allowing viewers to enjoy content on larger screens while engaging through their phones and displaying comments on the TV screen.
