Netflix is looking into livestreaming. As first reported by Deadline, it has confirmed that the company is currently creating a livestreaming option for stand-up specials and other live content.
Support for livestreams could open up a world of possibilities for the streaming giant. Netflix could use the feature to air live reunions, such as the recent reunion of the stars from the real estate reality show Selling Sunset, as well as enable live voting for competition shows. On top of that, Netflix could also use the feature to air live comedy specials, giving comedians the chance to reach a larger audience.
Considering the immense popularity of livestreaming, Netflix could be on the brink of tapping into a goldmine, potentially bringing in a massive surge of new subscribers. Only time will tell if this move is successful.
